There are three versions of Cuts and I have used all of them: Cuts in pill pack form, Cuts in powder form, and Cuts Non-Stim. All three contain the nootropics Tyrosine, DMAE, and Huperzine which have been shown to boost neurochemicals that enhance mood and focus. In feedback that I’ve gotten from friends who have tried Cuts, numerous people have told me that they felt better and/or in a better mood from taking it. All three versions of Cuts also contain a water-shedding complex that consists of Dandelion root and Uva Ursi leaf. These are both mild but effective diuretics that help remove subcutaneous water and in turn show greater muscle definition and separation. All versions of Cuts contain Coleus Forskohlii, which improves thyroid function and boosts metabolism.
Regular Cuts (both pill and powder) contain 200mg of caffeine, which I find to be a sweet spot for providing a good amount of stimulation without going overboard.
These two versions also contain phosphatidylserine, which has been shown to reduce cortisol levels. Cortisol is the primary stress hormone and when it is elevated it encourages the storage of fat. This was a useful survival mechanism thousands of years ago but not so much anymore, so reducing cortisol is an important factor in reducing body fat. Beyond getting lean, reducing cortisol levels can have a host of other beneficial effects on such things as cognitive function and the immune system.
Both of the powder versions contain two types of L-Carnitine. L-Carnitine has several positive effects such as increasing the mobilization of fatty acids, increasing insulin sensitivity (this is a very good thing), and improving brain function and heart health.
Animal Cuts is for anyone looking to cut weight or lose body fat. It is most useful as a component in a well-rounded fat loss strategy including training, diet, and rest/recovery. The powder versions are convenient in that it’s just one small scoop that mixes with water easily and tastes great. However, the pill pack provides the benefit of allowing one to remove the stimulant pill and/or the water-shedding pill if one so desires.
Proper dosing of Cuts is one dose in the morning and the second 4-6 hours later. If one is using either of the versions with caffeine, it’s better to get both doses in earlier in the day so that the caffeine doesn’t impact sleep.
Cuts Non-Stim allows more flexibility in this regard since it does not contain any caffeine or stimulants.
Either of the regular versions can also serve as an effective pre-workout, so that can help one factor in when they take it. Cuts shouldn’t be taken for more than three weeks without taking a week off, which prevents the ingredients from becoming less effective due to attenuation. Personally, I keep a container of all three versions ready.
